Iyazaki in Vancouver. Outstanding vibes even better with great company.
We started with a tofu with enoki mushrooms and green onions. Excellent contrast between the salty mushrooms and onions with a soft, bland tofu. Seems like it would be better if it were a little more balanced, without the mushrooms totally overtaking the dish.

Next we had essentially a hot dog with ketchup and sesame seeds, which was surprisingly good. A perfect hot dogn with the right amount of ketchup in each bite.

Excellent green beans.

And of course need some raw fish.

Beef 1 was a flavorful flank steak, not pre chopped.

Beef 2 was wagyu tataki with salmon roe, green onions over daikon. this was the best dish, a must get. Perfect balance between the very rare meat, saltiness of the salmon roe, and the crunchy daikon.

Another interesting dish containing smoked salmon.

The only thing I didn’t really like was the okra, although not because it tasted bad, but because of how slimy the okra was.

Another star of the meal was the grilled octopus.

A surprising favorite was the dessert - cheesecake, whipped cream, and green tea ice cream. All were delicious, and definitely worth having.
Overall Guu obtains a score of 3/4 beans - will be returning if I return to vancouver.
